Our 3 principal investigators uniquely balance the engineering and clinical sides of the Center and comprise Wilbur A. Lam, MD, PhD, a clinical hematologist at Emory, Professor and W. Paul Bowers Research Chair in the Department of Pediatrics and the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Emory University and Georgia Tech and Chief Innovation Officer of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center, Eric Vogel, PhD, a renowned electronic and nano-materials engineer and head of Georgia Tech’s Institute for Materials, and Greg Martin, MD, MSc, a clinical pulmonologist and intensivist at Emory, the James Paullin Distinguished Professor of Medicine and director of the Predictive Health Institute and past president for the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

In Memory: Oliver Brand, PhD

We dedicate our work at ACME POCT to Oliver Brand, PhD. As a founding member and PI of ACME POCT, Dr. Brand was an inspiration and guide for our Center. He will be remembered for his honors and accomplishments as a world-renowned scientist, professor, microsensors guru, and director of one of the largest nanotechnology centers in the country, but most of all as a wonderful colleague and friend. We will miss him dearly.
